Frequently Asked Questions
- Should I apply for AmeriCorps matching funds before I have been accepted to GW?
While you can apply prior to being accepted into GW, we recommend submitting the application post acceptance to prevent delays in processing.
- How much can I request?
GW will match AmeriCorps funds but the matching award will not exceed total tuition costs. Matching awards do not cover fees.
- When does AmeriCorps release their payments?
AmeriCorps releases their tuition payments in two transactions during the semester independent of GW’s calendar.
- Will I get a late fee if AmeriCorps has not released their payments yet?
AmeriCorps distributes their awards independent of GW’s academic calendar. It is therefore your responsibility to make sure that your account is not delinquent.
